Daily Kos 2026 GOTV (Get Out The Vote)

We seek to provide the knowledge necessary for Daily Kos readers and members to participate effectively in national, state-wide, and local elections. Our staff stories provide the primary route of such communication, supplemented by posts written by candidates, campaigners, and ordinary citizens.

This year's general election in November will be, again, the most critical of our lifetime (so far). Our chances of winning by overwhelming margins improve in direct proportion to widespread engagement in Get Out the Vote (GOTV) actions. Our own Get Out The Vote page offers a one-stop shop for connecting with multiple campaign activities.

There is something for everyone, ranging from phone banking to postcard- and letter-writing to infrequent but likely sympathetic voters, and from joining local election campaigns to working the polls. Regarding postcards, please note that on occasion we promote campaigns sponsored by Blue Wave postcards. Some GOTV activists have found it helpful to make use of their postage stamp assistance. We are happy to steer you to whichever campaign best suits your interests and needs.

Our GOTV page also provides portals for voter registration and for applying for an absentee ballot. Voting absentee this year is more strategic than ever. It not only locks in your own vote early, it also reduces the number of people campaigns need to reach, and it releases you to focus your own energy on campaigning as your time and energy permit.

The time to act is NOW. Many states begin to distribute absentee ballots in late September! Let's all do our very best to generate the blue tsunami we need in November.
