Daily Kos updated to DK6, April 15, 2026

As of April 15, 2026, Daily Kos has migrated to two coordinated platforms to support our stories and comments (Word Press and Viafoura, respectively).

Stories from Daily Kos staff explaining the transition may be found under the Daily Kos Announcements group. Please pay particular attention to the posts published on April 15, 2026 and later (though some of the stories published between March 30 and April 10, 2026, may still be of use as well).

Beginning on April 16, our CTO, Allison McHenry, has posted daily status reports on the bug fixes and feature improvements in the works.

DK6, Day 2

DK6, Day 3

These two posts provide the most current information about the fixes that have been made already and the ones currently in progress, and she will continue to provide such updates (on workdays) for a while yet. Combined with the story Markos posted on Wednesday, Welcome to your new Daily Kos, they offer a good overview of

  1. why the site migration was necessary and
  2. what we hope to tackle ASAP to ensure the new joint platforms work as well as possible.

They each also assert our common objective, to enable the new version to conform as closely as possible to the expectations that the Community holds about optimal site interactions.

Allison welcomes comments on her posts from users who have issues to raise. We are passing along what we hear at Help Desk too, but that process is somewhat slower and obviously less direct.

The transition work demands painstaking attention to numerous interacting components. Please trust that we are doing our collective best to answer the requests that people have made here at Help Desk and within the comments of those three posts to date.

Thanks for your patience as well as your engagement with the process of making this transition as smooth as it can possibly be.
