Notification Bell and Tray (v6)
The Notification Bell and Tray is a personalized feed for Daily Kos site users to access and view community comment and content interactions and activity. The Notification Tray, opened by the Notification Bell, provides a single location for links to replied comments, new comment followers, comment likes, and new comments in followed story threads.
- NOTIFICATION BELL
The Notification Bell is located at the far right of the top navigation bar. If there is new activity in your Tray, the number of new entries will be displayed with the Bell.
Clicking the Notification Bell icon will open your Notification Tray as the right sidebar of your page display.
- NOTIFICATION TRAY
The Notification Tray has three Tabs, and by default opens to the Feed Tab. The Feed Tab displays notifications of replies to your comments, likes of your comments, new comment followers, new comments in followed story threads, new stories published by users you follow, and new content associated to a followed topic.
- Notification Tray, Feed Tab:
Notifications for replies, likes, new comments in threads, and new followed content topics are hyperlinked to navigate directly to those comments.
Notifications can be removed individually from the Feed by clicking on the Trash icon to the right of each notification entry. Notifications grouped by TODAY and OLDER can be deleted in bulk by clicking on the Trash icon to the right of the TODAY and OLDER group headers.
- Notification Tray, Profile Tab:
The Profile Tab of the Notification Tray displays your general engagement information: your post/comment count, the total number of likes of your comments, and your number of followers.
The SETTINGS button on the Profile Tab opens your Notification Tray settings, also accessed by the small Gear icon at the top right of the Tray.
- Notification Tray, Community Tab
The Community Tab of the Notification Tray has three tabs to display 1) a list of users and content topics you follow, 2) a list of users following your comments, and 3) a list of users whose comment interactions you have chosen to Mute.
- Notification Tray Settings:
Settings for your Notification Tray can be accessed by clicking the small Gear icon at the top right of the Tray, or by clicking the SETTINGS button on the Profile Tab of your Tray.
The Setting page is where you can toggle your preference for email delivery of follower and reply notifications.
