Modification to when "Republished by" designation goes on a diary

When a diary is Republished, the group's name shows at the bottom of the diary that it was Republished by them.

It really has not been. It has been put in the group's queue. In the case of Community Spotlight, that diary carries the notation Community Spotlight even though the choice may end up being overridden by an editor and never get published. It is not in their stream (part of the front page) because it has not been released ... and may never be.

The author of the diary sees the Community Spotlight "label", tells all her friends, gets excited about it in the diary comments and then ... crickets. It never makes the Community Spotlight because an editor decided it was not good enough for them. The author has more than a little embarrassment ... or at least some confusion.

It is one thing to overlook a good diary ... it is another thing to essentially put a big neon sign on the diary declaring it good enough for Community Spotlight and then having an editor nuke the sign. This is true of all groups that have Contributors who are not Editors.

Could you please add to the list of modifications to have the Republished not show up on the diary itself until the diary is released from the Group's queue? Thank you.

You'll be pleased to know that this change has already been completed and will go up the next time we deploy new code to the server. My guess is that will be next week.

Just stopped by to report that yes, indeed, this improvement went into effect the evening of 12/6 with the latest updates. I tested it as I republished the update diary.
