When will subscriptions to avoid ads be available again?

The "please try again tomorrow" notice when trying to activate "Subscriptions" is not really a good idea. How about posting an accurate appraisal of when this option will be available again to turn off ads. It's been months now, and as far as I can tell, this option might never be available again. Or will it? Just tell us what is going on with this issue, please. Why not even tell us WHY this is currently an issue with DKos? Until it came time to renew my credit card information a few months ago, I had been a paid subscriber for years - like thousands of others. Don't you miss our money?

Thank you for asking, and our apologies for the prolonged inconvenience.

The set of developer tasks necessary for this rebuild is near the top of our queue now, but we still can't promise a date certain.

Meanwhile, you're in the right place, as that portal message advises. It is possible to resubscribe, if you're willing and able to mail us a check.

The check, for $40, should be made payable to Daily Kos and mailed to P.O. Box 70036, Oakland, CA 94612.

    Please note these special instructions:
    1) The memo line should say Subscription for [username] and
    2) SUBSCRIPTION should be written next to your address block at the top of the check.

We will be processing these subscriptions by hand, and given the volume of correspondence we receive it’s important to make sure the key information is on the check. Anyone may purchase a subscription for any site member, so to write the username on the check does not necessarily create a link between the username and the check writer. Make sure the username is spelled correctly including any spaces.

Thank you for your support of the site.
