What's the DKos view on extraneous tags on URL links?

In a diary/article that was posted yesterday, I noticed that the link through to the source article had a Facebook tag on it.
I posted a comment explaining that it is better to remove tags from URLs when adding links to posting diaries/comments. I was pretty late to the diary so my comment has probably not been read by many people at all.
I'll copy the comment here:

FYI Calebfaux (and anyone else who cares): the link you attached to the “Go here” bit of text is not what you really want.
Here it is in full with some spaces to break it up (and break the link):
    https:// thehill.com/ opinion/ white-house/ 463396- the- intelligence- community- strikes- back- an- impeachment- game- changer ?fbclid=IwAR11WOZjK4gdz WdneDxeIrC4WUqZWyryx 7ScAwPBgyJ6LXZSTtFd77 vVAR4#.XY6wYz1Nb54.facebook
What you really want is just that link before the question mark i.e. https:// thehill.com/ opinion/ white-house/ 463396- the- intelligence- community- strikes- back- an- impeachment- game- changer
Everything from the question mark on (?fbclid= ...) is to let The Hill know that you got to their page via a link on facebook, which in the case just isn't so.
*** When you post in links, always take the time to look at it and check to see if it has just the page URL you want, or if there is a bunch of extra tags added on. Everything after a ? is a tag. Delete the tags and the link will work just as you want it without providing someone else with credit for the clicks it gets.
[end quote]

So, I posted what I did sort of out of reflex as I have been trained to get rid of those pesky URL tags unless you really want them for a purpose. I'm sure there are Kossacks much better informed than me about what is best practice and if it really matters.
So my question is, what is the DailyKos house view on extraneous URL tags? Should posters remove them before adding links?
