Comment disappeared from view when I clicked "preview"

This is weird: I rec'd a diary, then wrote a short comment, and clicked "preview." Instead of seeing the preview of the comment, I saw... nothing. The comment had disappeared. Yet, when I hit "go back" I get the, "Leave site? Changes you've made may not be saved," message. I searched for the diary in a new tab, using a key word. It shows in the results list as having one comment, but no comment shows on the screen. Can anyone give me insight into what's going on here?

Thanks.

    This diary, I believe?
    https://www.dailykos.com/story/2019/5/2/1854609/-America-is-not-mer...

    I've been getting the same thing. Put in a Private ticket which has not yet been responded to. PM'd the author, who replied she wondered why she was getting no comments.

    23 Recs for the diary, but the "Comments" field is above the fold where it doesn't belong, and there is no Tip Jar. Definitely a bug, hope someone replies with a fix.

    FWIW, I was just told that Tech Support will look into the issue when they are available, so the issue is on their radar.

    Hello, and thanks to everyone who has raised this issue. Sorry for the glitch!
    As you might be able to see, there is a test comment that I posted there a few minutes ago.
    The first troubleshooting steps for any problem are going to be:
    Clear your cache on the browser you're using;
    Close and reopen your browser;
    Check for display.
    If the problem was resolved, great.
    If not, then please open another window, but make it a private/incognito one. What do you see in that context?
    Besides that, it would help us to know if
    1) this is the only post you see with this issue;
    2) you see it on another browser altogether (if you have access to a different one.

    Thanks. Good to know, in other words, what browser you are using. I succeeded in posting my comment this morning on OSX/Firefox.

    Appreciate your help with troubleshooting!

    Thank you. And, yes, it's the diary you linked. I've been able to comment
    on other diaries with no problem.

    (BTW, I don't believe I've ever put in a question here before, and haven't
    replied to a response. I'm not sure if I'm interpreting the "// Please
    reply above this line" correctly, so I ask for indulgence.)

    Cannot see the test message you posted, it shows that there are 3 comments, but they are not visible. Will attach image at bottom.
    I'm running macOS Mojave and seeing it with Firefox 66.0.3 64-bit and Safari 12.1.
    Also seeing it on iOS 12.2 in Safari, have been since yesterday.
    It is only this diary.
    There is no Tip Jar, so the "Leave a Comment" with all formatting options clicked down is above the fold.

    Will have to add pic in new comment below.

    This is what I see in all browsers when I am logged in. If I am not logged in, I don't get the "Leave a Comment" option above the fold.

    Thank you both.
    This is seriously odd, for sure. I'll be able to ask for developer assistance in a few minutes. The information you provide is useful for a diagnosis, but we may be back with more questions soon.

    Oh sorry. Important additional question.
    Are you using old comments or the new comments?

    "Comment Settings" isn't available in this diary, because the area to enter comments should be below the story and above the Tip Jar, but there is no Tip Jar, and it is showing up directly below the last paragraph in the story.

    As far as I know I'm using the old comments, because I haven't changed it anywhere.

     I'm still not seeing comments on this post after clearing the cache, and
    closing a reopening the browser. I'm also not seeing comments using an
    incognito window. I'm using Chrome. As far as I can tell, it's just this
    one diary. (I've comment on other diaries today.)

    Thanks for looking into this.

    I'll add 2 pictures, one showing what I see in a recent diary that is properly formatted with a Tip Jar visible, and what I see in this diary for comparison.

    Hi again.
    Yes, this appears to be an issue related to old style comments. NEW style comments handle the story just fine.
    So, this is our suggestion for the time being.
    Go to https://www.dailykos.com/comments_beta/true
    Doing this will set a cookie on your browser through which you'll then see the new version of comments on every story. You can then return to this story https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2019/5/2/1854609/-America-is-not-m... and should then see everything properly.
    We do want to have the story remain up for diagnostic purposes. I'll reach out to the author next.
    Thanks!

    Yes, that appears to be working. Thank you. I'll leave that cookie set and remember to do it again if/when I have to clear it.

    Just for the record, it also works on newer/faster iPhones that can use the “View full site” rather than the mobile version.

    So, is this a different glitch from the one Besame reported last week?

    Yes, a different one. "Interesting" things happen when you start to poke at a system.
