I've searched on how to post an article, but haven't found a direct answer. Is this the way to go about it?
Thank you for your time and assistance.
Respectfully,
Jon Eric Preston

Hi! You've reached the Help Desk.

We welcome people to sign up for a user account here at Daily Kos, the largest online progressive community, which is both a news organization and an activist hub. Having a user account permits you to write comments and replies to other Community members and Staff writers and to write your own posts, if you are so inclined. It also allows you to recommend other people's comments and stories.

If you have not already done so it's easy to sign up for a user account. Click on the Sign up button at the top of any page and follow the prompts. Here's the direct link: https://www.dailykos.com/users/signup
As part of the process, you will receive a couple of confirmation emails -- one to activate your account, and one to confirm that you succeeded in doing so.

One suggestion to keep in mind when you sign up: Please take care when you are choosing your username. It will be displayed along with every comment and story you write, and it will be visible in association with every comment and story you recommend. We permit people to post in complete anonymity or to post under their own real names -- but we don't permit people to change their usernames once they've created a posting history here (except in unusual and rare cases).

After you sign up and login, the site will look a little different to you in a number of places. Perhaps the most obvious difference is the top bar of the page. Instead of asking you to sign up or login, it will show your username (and a space for an avatar) and a Blog it! link with a little pen icon. Then, in the comments section of currently-open stories, you'll see a Reply button attached to every comment except for the Tip Jar and an empty comment box at the bottom of the thread, awaiting any text you may want to provide.

Once you have signed up and logged in, you are generally good to go, though of course there are a number of finer details to know about posting and commenting. Feel free to peruse the Knowledge Base associated with the Help Desk: https://helpdesk.dailykos.com/kb It might be helpful for you to read the site Rules of the Road: https://www.dailykos.com/rules-of-the-road First-time commenters are often, but not always, greeted by a member of our Partners & Mentors team who reply with a message supplying additional information for new users. You are also welcome to return to the Help Desk with any questions.

Thank you for your support of the mission of the site. We look forward to having you join the conversation here.
