How the hell can I get rid of that stupid box that shows up every time someone posts a comment? I'm always trying to write or read something and it totally obliterates the screen exactly where I'm trying to work on a post myself. It took me ten minutes to type four sentences this morning because I kept having to stop, click the X and try to get my train of thought again. It took approximately 3 seconds for my screen to be oblliterated again and I could not choke out a word if my life depended on it.

How can I get rid of that incredibly annoying box of who's commented recently? To me? It's just a huge annoyance and I just want to make it go away. Now, how do I do that... Honestly, it drives me batshit crazy!

Sorry it bugs you. Fortunately, there is an easy way to turn it off.

Look at the bottom of every post, just below the row for rec/FB/tweet and above the top reply box, for a light gray link that says Comment Settings. Click on it. Then uncheck the box next to Auto Refresh.

That's it. It's a global setting, so it will apply unless and until you change your mind and go back to click it.

    Thanks for asking.

    Thank you. Did I mention I'm a complete technoidiot? I'm a brilliant
academic, artist and designer but I'm the dumbest woman on Earth when it
comes to anything techie or mechanical. Even with your simple directions?
I promise you, I'll screw it up somehow anyway!

Thanks for the reply. I do have to give the DK support staff a hand. No
matter how pissed off or frustrated I've become? You guys are always so
polite, thorough, considerate and helpful and generally timely with
responses. I just can't think of a damn thing to whine about when it
    comes to you guys.
