Allow readers to recommend a comment for longer than 24 hours

I often don't get to read an article until more than 24 hours after it's posted. I would still like to be able to recommend comments. Please allow a period longer than 24 hours to recommend comments: say 7 days -- like you allow to recommend the article itself.

Flowwalker, the original cutoff period on comment recommendations was not to keep people from recommending them, but to keep people from flagging them after 24 hours, either because of lingering animus, or later problems.

Since there's no simple way to locate recommendations in place after the diary has passed out of its original period of activity, I'd suggest leaving a short note as a reply, That, at least, will be seen and appreciated whenever you get to read the article, which the late rec likely would not.

    Not Staff, just another user.
