Can you please say more? I am not sure what you mean yet.

When there is a petition within a diary in the main feed, often it thinks it knows who you are and says “click here if you are not xxx.” About once a week it has the name of someone who ain’t me. Today it was a name about 15 letters long, I’m guessing a Thai name. It’s not a big deal to “click here” and auto fill my name but why does it happen?

    Hello, and thanks for explaining.

Somewhere along the way a specific first name gets attached to a petition, without including any other identifying information, and then it is carried along until someone in effect resets the field by clicking the "Not you?" (or similar) link. It's disconcerting, to be sure, but we are confident that no secure personal information is conveyed in this way.

We appreciate you signing when you are so inclined, and we thank you for your support of the mission of the site.
