the check in the e-mail me box

all of a sudden mine is checked.
It is turned off in my profile
do you know this has been happening ?

Thanks for all you do on the tech team ! That can never be said enough ! ! !

    So I have opened quite a few post since I wrote about this problem !
    each time I unchecked the box.
    Now it has stayed unchecked.

    Thanks for asking, and thanks for your kind words.

    There are actually two different features of the site here: the comment reply notification, which is what the little blue box in comments indicates, and the KOSMAIL notification, which is the setting that can be changed in your edit profile page. It seems to be very common for people to think they're the same, but they're not.

    The "Email me when someone replies to my comment" option is in every comment reply box. You can check it and uncheck it whenever you want. (It is set to ON, or checked, by default.) Once you do change it, though, your choice is supposed to stick until you change it again. And it should stick across platforms and browsers.

    In practice, we've found that stickiness is less reliable than we'd like, but it's also inconsistent enough that it's seriously hard to replicate it.

    I hope it does stick for you, however you want it to be!
