Password Change confirmation not sent

Just changed my password. Three times!
Each time, most of the steps worked. But the confirmation message was never sent.
Here's what happened:
1. Clicked Reset Password.
2. Got the email and clicked the link.
3. Saw the dialog with "New Password" and "Confirm Password" fields.
4. Entered the new dialog and confirmation.
At this point, things went wrong.
What *should* have happened:
5. A message appears saying a confirmation message has been sent.
6. You click the link in the confirmation email
What *did* happen:
5. A dialog appears with "Username or email" and "Password" fields. Plus a [Login] button.
    (A confirmation message is supposed to be sent, but isn't.)
6. You fill in your username and email, and click [Login].
7. Nothing happens. You're looking at the same dialog, with empty fields.
WORKAROUND
Only diagnosed the problem when I went to the main page and attempted to log in.
At that point, an error flag came up saying the account needed confirmation.
Checked email. Nothing there.
But on this path, there was an option to REsend the confirmation message.
Choose that, got the message, confirmed the account, and I'm back in.

    Thanks for figuring it out and explaining the roadblock you encountered.
    Yes, on occasion, the initial confirmation process fails to complete. We also can manually activate accounts, but we're grateful you managed to get it to work for you anyway, even after all this time.
