The Taboola links link, with picture, to a removed article/diary.

Today it is happening with this.

    Hello, and thanks.

Yes, that post was unpublished. But where do you see the Taboola link? On our site, or elsewhere? (if you feel comfortable sharing that information, that is).

On DailyKos, the column on the right. The set of links below You May Like and above by Taboola.

Today it is linking to this hidden comment on a removed story.

Thanks for this information. I'm sorry, my request wasn't specific enough.
What Daily Kos page/story displays the Taboola ad, and what is the ad for?

Not the ads/sponsored links. The links in the right column, below You May Like and above by Taboola.

For example, on this page, a link goes here. The name for the link is the same as the story it links to.

The image with the link is here.

Again today, from this article, Taboola links to this removed story with image.

And from this to this with image.

Got it! Thanks, this is very helpful. The images are useful, too.
Ads of any sort rotate, and they are usually targeted, making it challenging for any two users to see the same display. We appreciate your persistence in helping us track this down.

I clicked on three items that looked interesting today but turned out to be Removed -- two on a story about Trump's reaction to Adam Schiff and one on a story about lies regarding Comey. All three had Daily Kos URLs. One item showed Harrison Ford, one showed Tom Selleck and the third one I've forgotten already.

Why do you post provocative links to things that you have taken down? Don't you vet these articles first?

Hello, seab, and thanks for asking.

We're actually not responsible for the choices that the advertisers make for these "promoted links." We are, however, interested in knowing where users see them and what the URLs of the unpublished posts are -- so we can get them taken out of the ad rotation. Appreciate your help with this project.

Thank you, newbadger. We got this one and are working on more permanent remedies. Appreciate the alert here very much.
