In the old comments UI, when viewing a particular comment, we could navigate to the previous comment by clicking on the name of the individual to which the first comment is replying. That no longer functiions.

Example:

LiberalWizard -> ProgressiveSorcerer

What do you mean that Mitch McConnell's head can literally retract into his shell? He has too much arthritis.
Clicking on "ProgressiveSorcerer" would navigate to the previous post.
ProgressiveSorcerer -> DemocraticBard

I thought Mitch McConnell's head disappeared but I saw it retract into its shell when Nancy Pelosi gave him side-eye.

    Hello, and thanks for the issue report.
    I have just tried this out and it does work for me: that is, clicking on the "parent" comment's authorname does jump me back up the thread to that parent comment.
    Have you seen it again, consistently? And if so, please note your OS and browser.
    Appreciate your help with troubleshooting here.

    Yes, I can replicate.

    Looking at a random thread:

    The top comment is by "txdoubledd" in reply to "Inland Jim." Clicking "Inland Jim" will not lazy-load or navigate to Inland Jim's comment.
    Clicking on the parent name of any downthread comment will highlight the parent comment, but the top comment on the loaded page doesn't have the same functionality.

    I use Windows 10 and Chrome.

    OK. Thanks for the additional information; we'll check it out. If I need more, I'll reopen the ticket, but for now I'm closing it.
