The current layout makes it hard to find community stories among the news stories.

    Hi, Elixa

Thanks for asking about the new Front Page design.

If you're interested in more context, please consult this reference explaining the rationale behind the change.

If you're here for more immediate concerns, the most common question arising now is how to switch between old and new displays. Some site users, even regular ones, may not have been in the smallish percentage of users now redirected to the new display. Others may want to take a little longer to become acclimated to it.

    Switching between displays is easy.

Logged-in users can switch between versions by clicking a link displayed at the bottom of the user drop-down menu, “Switch to old/new frontpage design.” Anonymous users can use these links to switch:
To reach the old FP display, go to https://www.dailykos.com/softlaunch/set_default
To reach the new FP display, go to https://www.dailykos.com/softlaunch/set_default?to_new_page=true

Once you've had a chance to use the new display for a while, you're welcome to let us know what you think about it. We’ve opened a dedicated category here at the Helpdesk for new Front Page questions and commentary. To help us better understand your feedback, please provide details about the type of device you’re using, its operating system and browser, along with as much specific information you can supply about your question or issue. Screenshots, which Helpdesk will allow you to attach, can be of significant help in illustrating your points.

Thanks for your support of the mission of the site.
