A further suggestion on story headers

I'd like to propose a two-stage click-through; first to a text box that shows the current material (date/time, recs, comments, first couple of sentences if available), which offers a Continue/Go Back choice. Possibly with some kind of minimum icon that lets you click for preview versus clicking anywhere else takes you to the full story. That way your initial page load is lighter, but a user can still get a peek at a story without having to load the whole thing.

If the page can tell what kind of system it's on, then where Hover capabilities exist you can load the information on mouseover/hover, and remain with the two-click system where they do not. I have no idea what the current degree of sophistication in this area may be.
