I regularly get KOS data in my email and can sign petitions with impunity, but apparently, I'm not signed up to legitimately be allowed to do so. I was rejected from KOS signup site when I attempted to do what KOS told me to do, to sign up legally.

    Hi, Mary --

    Thanks for asking about this.

Many people do not realize that there is no necessary connection whatsoever between receiving the Daily Kos Recommended emails and having a user account here. One can have one or the other, or both, but they're completely separate processes.

Our records for the site show that there is no username associated with the email account you used to create this help desk ticket. So please go ahead and register for a new account -- click on the Sign Up button at the top right of any page and follow the prompts.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to return to ask.

WHERE is the top right of any page? What prompts?

Where can I register for a new account; I don't see anything.

    Thanks,
    Mary Yamada

Are you looking at the main site? https://www.dailykos.com

I'm attaching a screen shot of what the home page looks like right now.

But please note: You will likely see different ads, because they are customized. Also, you will see an overlay on top of the home page with a petition to sign, or to dismiss, as you choose. Click Skip Action and that overlay will disappear.

The Sign Up button is toward the upper right corner of the page.

There is a "Join Us" thing, which you probably can see, but it's not the
kind of thing I can sign .. it doesn't respond to me at all.

No, that's in the upper middle of the page. Look to the upper right corner. There is an orange Sign up button there. That's what will start the registration process.

There is no orange sign up thing on the upper right. Could you please send
    it to me again? Thanks.

Mary, I'm not sure what you are seeing yourself. The sign up button should be there, unless you are actually already signed in under a username.

How about if you go directly to this page: https://www.dailykos.com/users/signup
That should work for you regardless.

As for the your last comment regarding blocks -- That's a subject line from an email being sent today, in an effort to gather supporters of Net Neutrality to send letters to the FCC. It's not as far as I know something you should be seeing outside of this email subject line.
